Obituary of Carolyn Tuorinsky

Carolyn Tuorinsky of the Kenvil section of Roxbury Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 27th at Merry Heart Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was 92. Carolyn was born on October 27, 1923 in Mt. Arlington, NJ to the late Harry and the late Caroline (Huber) Begraft. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. In addition Carolyn worked for Barnes Brothers Marina, Standard Container during WWII and later part-time for the Kenvil Post Office. She lived in Mt. Arlington and then moved to the Kenvil section of Roxbury Twp. to raise her family. Carolyn was a 1941 graduate of Roxbury High School and she enjoyed swimming, skating and fishing on Lake Hopatcong. She was a lifelong and active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Mt. Arlington. Carolyn is survived by her children: John Charles, Alan & his wife, Linda and Joanne Watts & her husband, Richard. Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Alex and Elizabeth Tuorinsky, James, Gregory and Mark Watts and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, John in 2004 and her siblings, William Begraft, Lenora Safreed, Robert Begraft and Mary Kiely. Carolyn's Life Celebration will include visitation on Sunday, January 31st from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral service on Monday, February 1st at 10:00 am also at the funeral home. Carolyn will be laid to rest with her late husband, John at the Sparta Presbyterian Cemetery in Sparta, NJ.
