Obituary of Daniel G. Jeffreys

Daniel G. Jeffreys, of Delaware Water Gap, PA, formerly of Hopatcong, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his home. He was 67. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, on September 18, 1949, to the late Charles and Mary (Gray) Jeffreys, Dan grew up in Verona and spent the majority of his life living in Hopatcong before retiring to Delaware Water Gap. Dan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. Dan was honorably discharged from the Marine reserves in 1974. Dan spent a number of years contributing to the workforce as a purchaser/buyer for multiple technology companies. He found his niche working as a floor manager and dispatcher for a stone company based in Kenvil, NJ, and went on to work as a dispatcher at Tilcon in Rockaway, NJ, before retiring. Dan was a kind, caring, generous man, a loving father and dedicated husband. He brought joy to anyone he met with a smile on his face and his thoughtful demeanor. His perpetually rosy disposition brought light to even the darkest of days for his family, friends and all those who loved and knew him. From the time he moved to the small town of Delaware Water Gap in Pennsylvania, Dan became affectionately known as the unofficial welcoming committee, always thrilled to introduce himself to a new neighbor. Dan’s primary focus was bringing joy to everyone he came into contact with. Survivors include his devoted wife, Cynthia Anne (Morgan); beloved children, Donna Koedatich (William), Robert DeIorio (Sherry) and Devon Jeffreys; cherished grandchildren, Brittany Williamson, William Koedatich, Carly DeIorio, Samantha DeIorio and Nicholas DeIorio; and adoring great grandchildren, Kylie Marie Koedatich and Aiden Michael Williamson. Also surviving are his dear siblings: brother Thomas Jeffreys (Chris); sisters Ruthie Safran (John), Phyllis Domenic and Jeannie Domenic; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dan was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Jeffreys. Dan’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday, January 26 from 4-8 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral prayer service will be offered on Friday, January 27 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Dan will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.
