Obituary of Gene Secola, Sr.
Gene Secola, Sr., 78, of Mt. Arlington, passed away on Monday February 6, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Jersey City, on July 25, 1938 to the late Alfonso and Victoria (Esposito) Secola, Gene has resided in Mt. Arlington since 1959. Gene was a graduate of Roxbury High School Class of 1957. He worked as a Pipefitter for Local # 274 in Jersey City. Gene was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Mt. Arlington where he served as an usher for 58 years. He enjoyed golfing and vacationing in Hollywood, FL, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Gene was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann Ricci.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Mary (DeMarino), beloved children Gene, Jr, Chris and wife, Donna, Patricia Bonnell and husband, Charlie, Michael; and wife, Donna and Valerie Kourtz and husband, Chris, his adoring grandchildren, Danielle, Gene, III, William, Kelly, Stephen, James, Michael, Steffani, Mary and Ryan, eight cherished great grandchildren and a brother, Anthony.
Gene's Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday February 9, 2017 from 3-8PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, February 10th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 8 Windemere Ave., Mt. Arlington, NJ. All are invited to meet at church for Mass.
