Obituary of Benjamin S. Lato

Benjamin "Benny" Lato of Netcong, NJ passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 70 years old. Benny was born on July 10, 1947 in Naples, Italy to the late Salvatore and the late Anita (Petrucci) Lato.

Benny immigrated to America when he was 10 years old. He was a longtime resident of Netcong, NJ and previous to that, he lived in Boonton, NJ. Mr. Lato was a mason and owned & operated Lato Mason Co. Benny enjoyed a good argument and loved talking to everyone he would meet throughout his day. He was an avid sports fan and liked all forms of gaming.

Benny is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Mary Ellen (Esposito), his son, Jeffrey, his cherished grandson, Jordan, his sister, Nancy Levine & her husband, Roger, his brother, Nicola Lato and his sister-in-law, Nancy Esposito and too many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends to mention. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Bruno Lato.

Benny's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Thursday, September 28th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Friday, September 29th at 10:00 am at St. Michael's RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Friends & family are invited to meet directly at the church on Friday morning. Benny will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., immediately following the funeral mass.
