Josephine Vavala died Wednesday June 18, 2008 at her home in Hopatcong. She was 84 years old. Born in Bronx, NY, Mrs. Vavala resided in Manhattan prior to moving to Hopatcong 40 years ago. She was a homemaker and loved playing bingo. Loving wife of the late Thomas who passed away in 1997, beloved mother of Annette Gessner and Cathy Vavala, adoring grandmother of Eric and Alyssa Gessner, dearest sister of Stephen Fuchs.
