Obituary of Warren A. Hanson

Warren A. Hanson passed away on Sunday May 4, 2008 at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Succasunna. He was 90. Born in Chicago, he resided in Rahway for many years prior to moving to Hopatcong ten years ago. Mr. Hanson served in the United States Army during World War II and was a graduate of Penn State University where he met his wife, Kathryn. Together, they achieved advanced degrees from Montclair State University and Rutgers University. Mr. Hanson worked as a teacher and School Administrator for the Rahway Board of Education for 24 years before retiring. He was an active member of the Sideliners supporting athletics in Rahway, Kiwanis of Rahway and the Echo Lake Association in Mt. Vernon, ME. Mr. Hanson is predeceased by his beloved wife, Kathryn (Walter) who passed away in 1998, and his youngest son, James. Survivors include his loving children, Robert Hanson and his wife, Jane of Andersonville, TN and Patricia Dixon and her husband, Jack of Hopatcong. Also surviving are his eight loving grandchildren and four treasured great-grandchildren.
