Obituary of Stephen Thomas Schmidt

Stephen Thomas Schmidt of Hopatcong died Thursday June 28, 2007 at home. He was 82. Born in Jersey City, he lived in South Hackensack before moving to Hopatcong 32 years ago. A WWII Navy veteran who served on the USS Quincy, Mr. Schmidt was a collate operator for Prudential Bindery in New Providence NJ before retiring. An active member of St. Jude RC Church, Hopatcong, he also was a member of VFW Post #10101 of Hopatcong, the American Legion of Weehawken and the Hopatcong Seniors. He enjoyed bowling and crafts. Beloved husband of 53 years of Betty (nee: Rovito). Dear brother of Adaline Schmidt of Jersey City and the late Gerard, the late Gene, the late Lila and the late Catherine.
