Dear Maas family: So sorry to read of your loss in the paper this morning. On behalf of the Lotz family, let me extend our deepest sympathy. I have many memories of years gone by in North Haledon and the friendship between "Herbie & Elsie" and my late parents "Betty & Ed". Backyard picnics, Herbie directing traffic at Foodtown, council meetings (just to name a few) Much has changed with the passage of time. May God grant you His peace and comfort at this time. Ed

Dear Elsie and family, Please accept my deepest sympathy to you at this time of Herb's passing. I haven't had contact with any of you for many years, probably since I moved to Michigan over 40 years ago. I still remember you, Elsie and Herb very well. I remember Herb as a favorite older Maas cousin. They are very fond memories. Jan Visbeen sent me an e-mail about Herb, that is how I found out. She is a cousin on the Borduin side. Dear Elise and Family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I know that Herb had many admiring friends, and I am proud to have been one of them. I remember how Herb made people feel so welcome with his warmth and genuine interest in them and the world at-large. Herb will be sorely missed.
