Obituary of Joan Howard

Joan P. Howard formerly of Netcong and Wharton passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Joan was born on August 23, 1936 in Netcong, NJ to the late Nicola and the late Maria (Oliva) Fiorello.

Joan was born into a large, loving and proud Italian family where she was known by her entire family to be extremely caring and very generous. She was graduate of Netcong High School and a longtime parishioner of both St. Mary's RC Church in Wharton and St. Therese RC Church in Succasunna. She was an executive finance assistant at Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton for many years before retiring. Joan enjoyed golfing and playing cards but most importantly, she cherished spending time with her large and loving family.

Joan is survived her brother, Michael Fiorello, a multitude of cherished nieces and nephews, numerous grandnieces and grandnephews and too many additional relatives to mention. Joan was predeceased by her brothers; Chester Fiorello, James Fiorello, Nicholas Fiorello, Dominic Fiorello, Richard Fiorello and her sisters; Anna Lombardi, Lucy Webbe, Mary Cholish, Antoinette Lamberto, Josephine DeFelice, Rose Kelly, Louise Fiorello and Theresa Arbolino.

Joan's Life Celebration will include a Memorial Mass to be held on Monday, March 10 at 10am at St. Therese RC Church, 151 Main Street in Succasunna, New Jersey 07876. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church.
