Obituary of Carolyn Larsen
Carolyn Larsen, 79, of Hopatcong, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 2, 2025, after a short illness.
Carolyn was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, where her lifelong love for the New York Yankees began. She graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City. After graduation, she worked in the city for several years before marrying the love of her life, Thomas Larsen, on September 27, 1970. After a brief time in Parsippany, they settled in Hopatcong, where they raised their three daughters.
Carolyn's greatest pride and joy was her family. She was her daughters' biggest cheerleader, attending countless games, events, and milestones throughout their lives. That same dedication and love extended to her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.
She loved reading, watching General Hospital, doing needlepoint, spending time with friends at the "office," and traveling with her family. Carolyn also took immense pride in creating Christmas stockings for her loving and devoted family. But above all, Carolyn cherished every moment spent with her five grandchildren, proudly supporting each of them.
Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Tom Larsen. Together, they raised three beloved daughters: Michele Sulpy of Denville, NJ; Kristen and her husband Arthur Czech of Succasunna, NJ; and Melissa and her husband Michael Flinchum of Andover, NJ.
She was blessed with five beautiful grandchildren: Michael and Matthew Sulpy; Kiley and AJ Czech; and her cherished Dylan James Flinchum, who preceded her in death and was undoubtedly waiting to welcome her with open arms in Heaven.
Carolyn is also survived by her sisters, Marguerite Marino and Josephine Genovese, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends who brought joy to her life and who loved her dearly.
In addition to her grandson Dylan, she was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Catherina Bica.
Carolyn's warmth, unwavering love, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
