Obituary of Theodore F. Beck Sr.

Theodore F. Beck, Sr., 91, of Netcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday May 5, 2025 at ExcelCare in Dover, NJ surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 11, 1934 in Baltimore, MD to the late Frederick and the late Josephine (Schertner) Beck, Theodore resided in Byram Township prior to moving to Netcong. He served proudly in the Army National Guard. Theodore was a mason in his early years of employment. He also worked at Hercules Powder Plant in Kenvil. He and his brother purchased a gas station which operated as Beck's All American Service Station in Byram Township for over 30 years prior to retirement. After selling the business, Theodore went to work in the automotive department of Walmart in Mt. Olive. He was also a member of the Catholic Faith and the Lakeland Ambulance Squad.

Theodore loved owning his own business which brought him many lifelong friendships. He also enjoyed country and western music and concerts and camping, but his greatest joy in life was get-togethers with family and friends.

Theodore was predeceased by his daughter; Linda Beck and his brother Frank Beck.

Survivors include his children; Debra Elgazzar and her husband; Mohammed, Sharon Still and her husband; Elmer and Theodore Beck, Jr. and his wife; Barbara, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Theodore's Life Celebration will include visiting hours on Monday May 12 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered on Tuesday May 13 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Theodore will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery following the service.
