Obituary of Ronald Lewandowski
Ronald S. Lewandowski, 83, of Byram Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 6, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center.
Born October 17, 1941 in Newark, NJ to the late Sigmund and Elizabeth (Sedlek) Lewandowski, Ron moved to Stanhope with his family at the age of fifteen, and resided in the area ever since.
After graduating from Netcong High School in 1959, Ron attended Teterboro Aeronautical School prior to enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served proudly from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1966. Ron was Proprietor of Eager Oil Company in Stanhope, which he operated for nearly 25 years, prior to his retirement.
Ron loved being outside and watching the news, and also attending anything having to do with his grandchildren. He also loved history, specifically World War II, watching wildlife around his home, spending time with his many pets over the years, and being on a boat. He always had his pot of coffee ready to go, and would often end the day with his favorite flavored brandy. For him, the simple things in life brought the most joy.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 56 years; Jeri (DePietro); two devoted daughters; Melissa and her husband, Peter Freund; Karen and her husband, Peter Seastrand; his four cherished grandchildren, Julia, Brooke, Emily and Matthew, and two great grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Betsy Kloeppel and her husband, Rick; sister-in-law Jackie DiRenzo, and her husband, Tony, and his brother-in-law, Ken Butler (Barbara Miller). He also leaves several adored nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Bob Butler and his sister-in-law; Maryanne Butler.
