Obituary of Holly Fricke

Holly (Averill) Fricke of Stanhope, NJ, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 29, 2025. She was born on October 30, 1973, and was raised in Riverton, NJ, by the late Francis and Suzanne Evans Averill.

Holly was a highly talented and creative individual who put her skills to work as a florist at Acme Market. She radiated positivity and warmth, brightening every room with her engaging personality and sunny outlook. Holly cherished reading, gardening, nature hikes, and beach walks—and she relished every possible moment she could spend basking in the sunlight. Most importantly, Holly loved spending quality time with her devoted and loving family – especially her son MJ and her cherished nieces and nephews.

Holly is survived by her devoted son, Michael J. Fricke, II. and her loving siblings; Susanna (nee Averill) Bauer, Francis Averill, Aimee (nee Averill) Minner, and Laurie Averill. Additional survivors include her cherished nieces and nephews; Rachel Bauer, Julia Averill, Jarrod Averill, Jenna Averill, T.J. Minner, Alli Minner Aaron Minner and her great nephew, Nate Austin along with many additional relatives and dear friends. Holly was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael J. Fricke and her nephew, Robert Bauer.

Holly's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Gathering on Friday, July 11th  from 12:00 pm  to 3:00 pm at The Proving Ground Restaurant, 56 Shrewsbury Avenue, Highlands NJ.
