Obituary of Robert J. Penny

Robert J. Penny of Stanhope, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old. Robert was born on April 18, 1937 in Passaic, NJ to the late John and the late Elizabeth (Retz) Penny.

Robert was a resident of Stanhope, NJ for the past 53 years. He was a Social Studies and History teacher employed by Parsippany/Troy Hills Board of Education for over 30 years before retiring. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during the Korean Conflict followed by over twenty years in the National Guard. He enjoyed European travel, military aircraft and French television but most importantly, Robert cherished his time with his loving family.

Robert is survived by his devoted sons, Thomas Penny (and wife, Meg) and Ian Penny and his cherished grandchildren; Kyle, Ryan, Aidan, Danielle, Gavin and Zoey.

Robert was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, JoAnn Penny in 2024.
