Obituary of Philip D. Meyers

Philip Dean Meyers, 74, of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday July 27, 2025 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 21, 1951 in New York City, to Irving and Ruth (Fine) Meyers, Philip resided in Paterson, NJ prior to moving to Byram Township in 1985 and then to Mt. Arlington in 2020.

After graduating Paterson Eastside High School, Class of 1969, Philip served proudly in the US Army and attended William Paterson College in Wayne, NJ. He worked as a Controller at Fette Compacting America in Rockaway, NJ for 20 years prior to retirement in 2017. Philip enjoyed cheering on his beloved NY Giants and NY Yankees. He also enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, reading his morning paper and cruising to various islands and combing the beaches for sea glass. Philip's greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years; Barbara (Klein), children; Jennifer Hagins (Keith) and Jonathan Meyers and grandchildren; Leila Hagins, Everett Meyers and Cyrus Meyers. Also surviving is his feline companion; Pookie.

Philip's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Friday August 1st from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A memorial service will begin at 12:30 PM at the funeral home.
