Obituary of Rita Menniti

Rita Menniti of Landing, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was 85 years old. Rita was born on October 6, 1939 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Stephen and the late Bridget O'Brien Osborne

Rita was a long-time resident of the Landing Section of Roxbury Twp., NJ. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Lydia Hall Hospital for many years before retiring. Mrs. Menniti was an avid reader and took great joy in hosting large family gatherings. She was a devoted and active parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church in Lake Hopatcong and she truly loved spending quality time with her devoted extended family.

Rita is survived by her loving children; Lisa Giannascoli (spouse, Daniel Giannascoli), Eileen Fuscaldo (spouse, William Fuscaldo), Christine Bouey, John Menniti (spouse, Carol Menniti), Joseph Menniti (spouse, Julia Menniti), Stephen Menniti (partner, Jennifer Blythe) and her cherished grandchildren; Robert Kirby, Bridget Kirby, Joseph Kirby, David Bouey, Dylan Sampey, Macie Fuscaldo, Julianna Menniti, Dominic Menniti, Joseph Menniti and Rocco Menniti. Additional survivors include her great grandchildren; Robert Kirby, Kit (Isabella) Kirby, Lily Kirby, Donovan Kirby, Liam Sampey and Adeline Sampey.

Rita was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Anthony Menniti in 2023 and her siblings; Bridget Osborne, Stephen Osborne, Norah Osborne, Ruth Rutishauser, Edith Osborne, James Osborne, Frances Osborne, John Osborne, Patrick Osborne, Thomas Osborne, and Sheila Coscia.

Rita's Life Celebration Services will include a Visitation on Thursday, August 21 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road in Landing, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday August 22 at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 204 Espanong Road in Lake Hopatcong, NJ.

All Family members are invited to meet directly at the Church on Friday morning.
