Obituary of Rosa Orefice Polo

Rosa Orefice Polo of Netcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was 101 years old.  Rosa was born on December 26th, 1923, in Sperone, Italy to the late Michele and the late Maria Anna Trunfio Orefice.

Rosa was a long-time resident of Netcong, NJ.  She was employed by Dover Handbag Factory in Netcong for many years before retiring.  Rosa enjoyed gardening, cooking and crocheting but most importantly, she loved spending quality time with her large and loving family.

Rosa was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Stefano Polo in 1985 and her siblings; Antonio Orefice, Elia Orefice, Paolo Orefice, Giovanni Orefice, Francesco Orefice, Colonna Orefice, Anna Maria Orefice, Concetta Orefice and Esterina Orefice.

Survivors include her devoted children: Rosa Maria Polo, Maria Polo-DeGennaro, Pellegrino Polo and Michelle Polo-Tierney and her grandchildren; Carmine DeGennaro, Stefanina Jara, Rose Polo-Wittig, Filomena Polo, Stefano Polo, Brian Tierney, Stefano DeGennaro and Gina Feldman and many other extended relatives and dear friends.

Rosa’s Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Wednesday, August 27^th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral home, 150 Landing Road in Landing, NJ.  There will be a Prayer Service offered on Thursday, August 28^th beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home.  Family and friends may begin gathering at the funeral home at 9:30 am Thursday morning prior to services.  Rosa will be laid to rest in the family plot at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp, NJ.  All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.  For memorial donations please consider the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
