Obituary of Frank P. Fioretto

Frank P. Fioretto, 77, of Hopatcong, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, with his nephew by his side at Morristown Medical Center. Born on December 20, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Dominick and Gertrude (Bellion) Fioretto, Frank had been a proud resident of Hopatcong for the past 41 years. Frank worked as an HVAC Technician for Able Oil for many years before retiring. Known for his dedication and skill, he brought comfort to countless homes and was respected by coworkers and customers alike.

After the passing of his beloved wife, Marian, Frank found companionship and healing in his dog Maverick, who quickly became his closest friend. He treasured Sunday night dinners at his nephew's home, always looking forward to spoiling his two great-nieces, Hailee and Mia, with love and laughter. A passionate fan of NHRA drag racing, Frank loved spending weekends at Island Dragway, cheering on the races with excitement. He also found joy in life's simpler moments—sharing laughs with his bowling alley crew, enjoying breakfast at Rosie's, and dressing up as Santa each year to bring happiness to his family and continued the cherished tradition with his great-nieces. Frank was a true jack-of-all-trades—always the first to offer help, whether it was fixing a light switch or re-plumbing an entire house. His generosity, resourcefulness, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He lived with a heart larger than life and a spirit that will not be forgotten.

Frank is survived by his nephew, Daniel Mergenthaler and his wife, Lisa; great-nieces, Hailee and Mia Mergenthaler; his sister, Caroline Nelson; two nieces, Robyn Feaganes and Nicole Chierchio; his brother-in-law, Thomas Mergenthaler; and his cousin, Michael Cianciotto.

Frank's arrangements are private and entrusted to Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Frank's memory to https://www.hopatconganimalshelter.com/support-us , where he adopted his beloved Maverick.
