Obituary of John P. Rennie

John P. Rennie, 81, of Hopatcong, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville Campus surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 19, 1944 in Quincy, MA to the late Pershing and the late Eleanor (Quinn) Rennie. John has resided in Hopatcong for 53 years. John served proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era. He worked as a truck driver for Mt Hope Trucking Co. prior to his retirement. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years; Gloria (Kunz), children; Michael J. Rennie (Danielle), Joseph J. Brown (Beth) and Tracey L. Hoer (Mike), grandchildren; Scott & Ashley Decker, Meagan Hoer, Jacob & Samantha Rennie and Emily, Autumn & Allison Rennie, brothers Charles and Lenny Talbot. In addition to his parents, Pershing and Eleanor Rennie and his step-mother Sophie Rennie. John was predeceased by his son; John, Jr., granddaughter; Erin Hoer, and his brothers; Pershing "Buddy", Richard "Dickie". John enjoyed going to the beach and camping, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and close friends. Arrangements for John are private and entrusted to Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing, NJ. The family will announce a memorial celebration of John's life in the future.
