Obituary of Irene Cosgrove

Irene Cosgrove, 77, of the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township, passed away peacefully on Friday October 10, 2025 at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover Campus.

Born in Heraklion, Greece on October 25, 1947 to the late George Aplada and the late Maria Fasoulakis, Irene came to the United States in 1973 and resided in Rockaway prior to moving to Succasunna in 2020.

Irene worked at PNC Bank in Randolph prior to her retirement. She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family, especially her adoring grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years; Michael, children Melissa Cosgrove and her husband; Larry Sokolowski and Jennifer Hellner and her husband; Thomas Hellner, grandchildren; Christian & Michaela Sokolowski and TJ and Amanda Hellner and sisters; Soula and Pipina.

Irene's Life Celebration will include visiting hours on Tuesday October 14 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered on Wednesday October 15 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home starting at 9:30 AM Wednesday. Interment will follow at Tranquility Cemetery in Green Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Irene's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
