Obituary of Thomas Dickerson

Thomas Dickerson of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025.  He was 71 years old. Thomas was born on June 28, 1954, in Teaneck, NJ, to the late Donald F. Dickerson and the late Eleanor (Tomshock) Dickerson.

He was a Plastic Extrusion Engineer for Central Plastics in Parsippany, NJ. Thomas enjoyed watching sports, especially the Yankees, spending time on his boat on Lake Hopatcong, and fishing. He liked playing golf, taking walks in Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, and cooking a good meal, especially grilling in the backyard. He enjoyed talking and spending time with his children and grandson, as well as neighbors and friends, and his cat, Lucy. He was a weather buff who liked to make his own forecasts based on various meteorological models, and some referred to him as “Weatherman Tom.” He was known for being handy with tools and gifted when it came to home improvement.

He is survived by his son, Aaron Dickerson; his daughter, Ashley Murray and her husband, Paul Murray; his grandson, Benjamin Murray; and his brother, Donald Dickerson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 24th, at 10:30 am at George Washington Memorial Park, located at 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ 07652.  All are invited to meet at the cemetery office on Friday morning.
