Obituary of Judith V. Darcy

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Vilma Darcy, a devoted wife, cherished mother, and beloved grandmother, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 4^th, 2025 at the age of 69.

Born on 6/8/56 in Newark, New Jersey to August Maute and Julia Gergeley Maute, Judi grew up in West Orange, New Jersey.  She married the love of her life, Gene, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion. 

A nurturing mother to TJ and his wife Jessica and an adoring grandmother to Declan and Finn.  Judi adored her grandsons more than anything and enjoyed having them stay over and entertain her on weekends. 

Judi loved spending time with her sister-in-law and oldest friend, Kim and her brother-in-law Dave.  They shared many laughs and memories over the years.

 One of her greatest joys was caring for animals and she proudly bred and rescued golden retrievers along with opening her home and heart to many pets over the years.  Throughout her life, Judi had an affinity toward gardening and was an avid reader and history enthusiast.

Judi’s home away from home was always at the beach, specifically Cape May where the family shared many summer vacations throughout the years. Judi worked for over thirty years in real estate and fondly remembers her career and friends made along the way.
