Obituary of Stephen J. Leyden

Stephen J. Leyden of Byram Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 62 years old. Stephen was born on September 8, 1963 in Rockville Centre, New York to the late John and the late Anne Ledogar Leyden.

Stephen was a long-time resident of Byram, NJ and was employed as a Regional Sales Manager for United States Gypsum (USG) where he worked for 35 years. Stephen was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Rolling Stones. He enjoyed golfing and cooking but most importantly, Stephen cherished his time with his loving family and many friends.

Stephen is survived by his devoted children; John Leyden (Daisy), Julia Leyden and Stevie Leyden (Megan) and his loving partner, Patrice Reilly. Additional survivors include his siblings; AnneMarie Heastings (Jim), Edward Leyden and Kathleen Leyden Refosco and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Stephen's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Gathering on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The American Legion Post #278,  119 State Route 183, Stanhope, NJ.
