Obituary of Marco Ramirez
Marco Ramirez, 77, of Dover, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday December 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Marco was born on February 3, 1948 in Puerto Cortez, Honduras to the late Cesar Guerrero and the late Raquel Ramirez.
Marco grew up in the northwest coast of Honduras, Central America. Growing up near the ocean, Marco naturally gravitated towards a career in a marine environment. He completed his education and became certified as a Chief Engineer (Marine Mechanic). Marco traveled the world as a Chief Engineer on commercial boats. Marco kept commercial vessels going strong at a time when boats operated without any computerized equipment. His incredible aptitude as an engineer was renowned, and he was challenged with the most troubled vessels because of his ability to fix them. He knew the sounds of the engines well, and these sounds would often guide him in figuring out what repairs were needed.
After life changing circumstances led him to the United States, he transitioned to become a Diesel Engine Mechanic for Standard Trucking Company and later with Lakeland Bus Lines, until he retired in 2013. Being a hard-working man his entire life, Marco continued learning, getting many certifications and continuing to learn new skills in all kinds of machinery related items.
Marco is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Maria Isabel Dominguez Ramirez.
Marco had six children from his first marriage with Rosaura Ramirez. They are Miriam Medina, Dilcia Yela, Oscar Guillermo, Raquel Ramirez, Marcos Ramirez, and Maria de los Reyes Ramirez.
In 1992 Marco remarried a childhood friend, Maria Isabel Ramirez, and they rebuilt their lives together. When the time came to retire, he was delighted with the opportunity to help care for his infant grandchildren. Marco was a kind and loving soul who put his family's needs before his own. His happy spirit, boisterous laughter and playful personality filled his home and the hearts of those around him.
Marco's stepchildren from his second marriage are; Celia Irula, Maritxa Reymundo, Jessica Reymundo, and Johanna Epstein.
Grandchildren; Carlos, Luis, Wilson, Julissa, Harrold, Bayron, Josue, Jorge, Yarixa, Rosaura, Genesis, Karen, Cesia, Gabriella, Natalie, Nicolas, Kara, Jordan, Jonah, Julianna, Jasper and 17 Great Grandchildren.
