Obituary of John F. Garlette

John F. Garlette of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 72 years old. John was born on November 17, 1953 in South Charleston, West Virginia to the late William and the late Margaret (Birmingham) Garlette.

Mr. Garlette was a 1973 graduate of James Caldwell High School and a long-time resident of Northwood Section of Hopatcong, NJ. He was employed as a Senior Director of Strategic Events for Casio America Inc. for many years before retiring. John enjoyed gardening, reading, crafting and the natural world but most importantly, he cherished his time with his family, especially his loving grandchildren.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathleen (nee Morsell) his devoted daughters; Kelly Jodexnis (Daniel), Megan Dutkowski (Chris) and his cherished grandchildren; Noelle, Adam, Harley, Oliver and Damian. Additional survivors include his brothers; William Garlette, James Garlette and Edward Garlette and many additional extended relatives and dear friends. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Janet Schwartz in 2025.

John's Life Celebration Services will include a Visitation on Friday, January 2nd from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with a Catholic Prayer Service offered at 12:30 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.
