Alice McGroarty of Hopatcong, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was 78 years old.

Born on May 14, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, Alice was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bopp) Wagner. She was a longtime resident of Hopatcong and a dedicated school bus driver for the Mount Olive Township Board of Education, where she worked for many years before her retirement. Alice was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit, and the care she showed to the many children she transported safely each day.

Alice found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved cooking for her family, getting lost in a good book, creating crafts, listening to the music of Barry Manilow, watching Christmas movies and movies on the Hallmark Channel. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and happiness.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Charles; her devoted sons, Gregory McGroarty (Shannon) and Christopher McGroarty (Rebecca); and her cherished grandchildren, George, Quinn, and Henry. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Maureen Frost and Mary Kline, along with many extended relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
