Obituary of Megan Warnkin

Megan Warnkin of Hopatcong, New Jersey, and formerly of Washington Township (Warren County), passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026, at St. Clare's Hospital, Dover Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was 49 years old. Born on February 12, 1977, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Megan was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen (Burke) Warnkin. Megan was very proud of earning her college degree in graphic arts. She most recently worked as a Science Laboratory Manager at Northampton Community College's Tannersville, Pennsylvania campus, where she was known for her dedication, knowledge, and kindness toward both colleagues and students. Megan found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the natural world. She especially loved photography, kayaking, collecting rocks and crystals, and swimming in the Delaware River. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Megan is survived by her beloved companion, Michael Komorek; her loving sisters, Malena Groff, Maureen Pence, and Melissa Warnkin; as well as many cherished relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply. A Life Celebration for Megan will include a Memorial Gathering to be announced by the family at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, New Jersey.
