Salvatore Pergola

Obituary of Salvatore Pergola

Salvatore Pergola, age 90, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories. He was born on July 24, 1935, in Pietraperzia, Sicily. In his early years, he began building his life and family in Buenos Aires, Argentina, before eventually settling in the United States, in New Jersey, where he built a meaningful life for himself and his loved ones.

Salvatore was the beloved husband of the late Martha Pergola and a devoted father to his four daughters: Vivian (and former husband Joseph), Patricia (and husband Marcelo), Sonia (and husband Eduardo), and Elizabeth (and former husband Fabian). He was a proud and loving grandfather —“Nono”—to Girolamo, Salvatore, Eric (and wife Kathryn), Patrick, Lucas (and wife Martina), Mauricio, Jesica, Alejandro (and partner Alejandra), and Gaston, all of whom brought him immense joy. And a cherished great-grandfather to Scarlett and Violett.

He is survived by his sister, Josefina, and her husband Ernesto in Argentina, along with a large extended family who will remember him fondly.

He was a skilled and dedicated Tool and Die Maker, a profession he took great pride in throughout his career, and in providing for his family. Outside of work, he embraced life fully. He loved traveling, going on cruises, visiting casinos, and especially enjoying meals at buffets, all with his love, Martha, by his side. A passionate soccer fan, he rarely missed a chance to watch a game.

Salvatore was known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. He never hesitated to express his emotions and shared deep connections with those around him. He loved telling stories of his upbringing in Sicily and Argentina, recalling even the smallest details with emarkable clarity. Through these stories, he kept his history and heritage alive for generations.

To his family, he will always be remembered as a loving father who stood beside their mother, always ready to lend a helping hand and support his family in every way he could.
