With heartfelt sympathy to Mary-Beth and family and thanks and praise to the Lord for the life of brother in Christ Roland and for the privilege of being a fellow U.S. Merchant Marine Academy alumnus ('64) and U.S. Coast Guard officer.
Carol Ann and I have special memories of time together with Roland and Mary-Beth, along with Fred and Jackie Denkman early 1966 in Yorktown,VA during the Marine Inspection course, especially Mary-Beth's and Jackie's assistance pre- and post-delivery of our oldest daughter Rebecca.
Later, while working in the NY Marine Inspection Office, I so appreciated their kind hospitality in Phildelphia while I took the 2nd Engineer License exam there in a different CG office as per regulations.
After leaving the Coast Guard, serving aboard merchant ships and successfully completing the Chief Engineer License exam in New York in 1970, I was pleasantly surprised and blessed to again meet Roland, who meanwhile had become Senior Inspector Personnel NY, and administered the Chief Engineer oath to me.
Rest in peace, dear friend, and may the Lord comfort and bless your family in their grief during your absence.
Mike and Carol Ann Poynor

In loving memory of Bunky, who led such an amazing life, who had countless talents, and who gave loving service to his country, family, friends, neighbors, church, and civic organizations. I was blessed to have participated in many Faith Sharing sessions with him. as well as enjoying fun trips in his boat on the lake, picnics and Christmas parties.. He will be deeply missed but well remembered. Deepest sympathies to Mary-beth and the extended Boughton family.

I have known "bunky" for a long time as we went to the same church in Naugatuck, Immanuel Lutheran at that time. He was a member of the choir and he had a great voice. A great man and gentleman!. I also know Mary beth as she is a classmate of mine from High School. A great couple. My condolences to Mary beth and her family on his passing. Gary Knapiki

My heart breaks for my wonderful sister who has lost her soulmate Bunky. I will always cherish my memories of days on both Lake's, Governors Island and all the other places you both were stationed. Bunky was the best BIL a sister could have. Actually, he was the brother I never had. Love you forever. Rest in Peace until we meet again. xx/oo Nancy-jo
