Obituary of Grace M. Kiely
Grace M. Kiely of Netcong, NJ (by way of the Bronx, NY) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.
Born on March 26, 1936, Grace was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary Gallagher. She was a longtime resident of Netcong and a faithful parishioner of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, where her faith was a guiding force throughout her life.
Grace was well known in the community for her years as a charismatic waitress at Ron's Landmark in Netcong, where she warmly welcomed generations of customers and formed countless friendships. Her dedication, kindness, and genuine smile left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Grace's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, particularly her eight grandchildren, or as she liked to call them, "her munchkins". She loved hosting parties and gatherings, always eager to invite one more person and, as she liked to say, toss "another potato in the pot." She also enjoyed singing, cooking, and traveling, especially with her family and her "golden girls."
Grace is survived by her sister Pat (Bernard) McElhone; her devoted children, James (Mandy) Kiely, Michael (Laura) Kiely, and Margaret (Phil) Duffy; her cherished grandchildren, Phillip, Meghan (Anthony), Adam, Erin, Kiely, Daniel, Katie, and Nicole; and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Gracie treated everyone like family, welcoming all into her heart and home.
In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband, James "Jimmy" Kiely, who passed away in 1973; her brothers Danny, John, Bernard; and her sister, Maggie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Monday morning and are asked to wear bright colors instead of black.
Following the Mass, Grace will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mount Olive Township, NJ.
All arrangements have been entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude's in Grace's memory.
