To Michelle and Family,
I had the privilege of being one of Rob’s nurses over the past month. I wasn’t sure if it was appropriate to reach out, but I wanted you to know what an incredible honor it was to care for him.
During the time I knew Rob, we became more than nurse and patient—we became friends. He spoke of you, Michelle, and of his daughters and grandchildren with such pride and love. It was impossible to spend time with him without knowing how deeply he cherished his family. Your names were woven into so many of our conversations, and it was clear that all of you were the greatest joy of his life.
I was with him through difficult moments, holding his hand through pain and comforting him during the times when he struggled to catch his breath. Even in those moments, his strength, kindness, and sense of humor shone through. Caring for Rob reminded me why I became a nurse.
Please know that he was never just another patient. He touched the hearts of those who cared for him, and I will always remember him. It was a true privilege to walk alongside him during the last chapter of his life.
I hope it brings you some comfort to know how deeply respected and genuinely cared for he was. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family during this incredibly difficult time.
