Obituary of Robert "Rob" Catalano

Robert "Rob" Catalano, of the Kenvil section of Roxbury Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, New Jersey, surrounded by his loving family. He was 68 years old. Born on March 2, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey, Rob was the beloved son of the late Leonardo and Joan (Delplome) Catalano. A lifelong New Jersey resident, Rob proudly called Roxbury Township home for many years. He enjoyed a long and successful career as an Operating Engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, where he worked diligently for many years. Rob found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of The Beatles and Ozzy Osborne and could often be found listening to their music. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved cats and cherished every opportunity to take his Corvette out for a drive. In addition, he was a fan of NASCAR and loved days at the beach. Above all else, Rob's greatest happiness came from spending quality time with his devoted family, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Michele Catalano, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage; his loving daughters, Jessica Swody and Brooke Roman; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma and Jada, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Volpe and her husband, Frank; his nephew, Nicholas Volpe and his wife, Alexa; along with several extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, Rob was predeceased by his brother, Leonardo Catalano. Rob's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Catholic Prayer Service beginning at 7:30 p.m., at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, New Jersey 07850. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rob's memory to the charity of one's choice.
