
Obituary of Gloria C. Dedinsky
Gloria Carmela Theresa Lombardo Dedinsky, formerly of Stanhope and South Orange, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Colonial Manor at Panther Valley surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old.
Gloria was born on March 12, 1934 in Newark, NJ to the late Peter and Josephine Romeo Lombardo. Gloria resided in South Orange, New Jersey before moving to Stanhope 36 years ago. Gloria met her beloved husband Andrew at the Silhouette Club in Newark while attending a Four Seasons Concert. She then attended Seton Hall University and Bloomfield College and was later a member of the Stanhope-Netcong Senior Citizens Club and the New Jersey Bell Pioneers. Mrs. Dedinsky was employed by Verizon (formerly NJ Bell) for 39 years before retiring. She enjoyed listening to the music of the Four Seasons and opera, eating at many New Jersey diners and taking beach vacations. Most importantly though, she treasured her time with her large and loving family.
Gloria will forever be known as a generous and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid shopper who especially loved QVC and took great pleasure in giving heartfelt gifts to everyone. She also enjoyed looking at the wild birds outside, and was especially fond of hummingbirds.
Gloria was preceeded in death by her loving husband, Andrew R. Dedinsky in 2018. She is survived by her devoted children: Laura Ziegert and her husband, Wayne; Lisa DeLuca and her husband, Stanley; and Andrew Dedinsky and his wife, Ana.
Also cherishing her memory are her grandchildren: Philip and Kiaya DeLuca, Matthew and Anna Ziegert, Christopher and Ashley Ziegert, and Andrew and Erin DeLuca; her great grandchildren: Noah Ziegert, Jack DeLuca, Landon Ziegert, and Andrew DeLuca; Proceeded in death by her sisters: Mary Mandaglio, Anna Lombardo, and Josephine Klein; and her brothers: Fred, Angelo, and Peter. She is also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Gloria's Life Celebration Services will include a Visitation on Thursday, July 16th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a Catholic Prayer Service offered on Friday morning, July 17th at 11:30 am at the Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel at 340 Ridge Road in North Arlington, NJ. Please note that the Funeral Home will also open at 9:00 am on Friday morning July 17th and a brief family Prayer Service will be offered at 10:00 am. Gloria will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Holy Cross Mausoleum.
