Obituary of Muriel June DeMuth

Muriel June Graber DeMuth died peacefully on Dec. 14th at the age of 99. Muriel was the widow of William Franklin "Frank" DeMuth and is survived by three children and their spouses, Donald and his wife Victoria of Summit, Sheryl and her husband Philip of Kinnelon and Robert and his wife Jennifer of Randolph. Known to her family as "Bobby", Muriel was the beloved grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of ten. Born in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of John and Olga Graber, Muriel lived in North Haledon before moving to Hopatcong where she lived in the home that she and her husband built on Pickerel Point for 58 years. Muriel began her many careers as an ingénue singing and acting in several off-Broadway productions before attending Paterson General's School of Nursing where she received her RN degree. After 30+ years as an active nurse, Muriel received her BA degree from Pace University and taught in the Hopatcong schools. Never one to sit still, Muriel went on to pursue a career in Real Estate as an agent for Toohey Realtors until her retirement at age 85. Muriel and Frank cherished life on Lake Hopatcong and were active members of the Hopatcong Yacht Club. Muriel had a loving nature and her sharp mind, wit and wise perspective on life kept her engaged in her community and at the center of her family until her very recent physical decline. Funeral arrangements were by Leber Lakeside Funeral Home. Muriel's life will be celebrated at a private family service.
