Obituary of Richard M. Boyer

Richard M. Boyer of the Port Morris Section of Roxbury Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old. Richard was born on March 3, 1943 in Roxbury Twp., NJ to the late Francis and the late Mary (Letcher) Boyer.

Mr. Boyer was a longtime resident of Port Morris; NJ and he was employed as a foreman for the Wharton Department of Public Works for many years before retiring. He was a longtime member of the Port Morris United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and sang in the church choir. In addition, he was the lead guitarist in the Boyer Family Band. Richard was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed fishing but most importantly, Richard loved spending time with his cherished family and friends.

Richard is survived by his devoted children, Karen Ripatrazone (Joe), Kim Lloyd (John) and Richard Boyer (Karen). Additional survivors include his cherished 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his brother, Arnold Boyer and his faithful canine companion, Buddy. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Rosemary in 2019.

Richard's Life Celebration will include a Visitation on Saturday, May 6th from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm with an 5:30 pm Prayer Service offered at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.

In addition, there will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at  2:00pm at the Port Morris United Methodist Church, 546 Main Street, Landing, NJ 07850.
