Obituary of Stephen D. Guerriero

Stephen D. Guerriero, of the Succasunna section of Roxbury, passed away on Tuesday August 11, 2015, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83. Born on February 21, 1932 in Morristown, to the late Frank and Isabella (Maurella), Stephen grew up in the Port Morris section of Roxbury and resided in Hopatcong for 50 years prior to moving to Succasunna 5 years ago. Stephen proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1952-1955. He was employed as a maintenance contractor at Compac Corporation in Netcong and then for the Borough of Hopatcong. Stephen was an avid fisherman and past president of the Knee Deep Club of Lake Hopatcong and founder of the NJ Anglers Sportsman's Association. He also was an avid wood worker and life member of VFW Post #3401 of Morris Plains. Survivors include his wife, of 53 years, Barbara (Mooney), a daughter, Dawn DeMarinis and husband, David, a son, Stephen, one grandson, Anthony, a brother, Frank and his wife, Anita and a sister Monica Culleny. Stephen's Life Celebration will include visitation on Friday August 14 from 3-7 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered on Saturday August 15 beginning at 10 AM at the funeral home. Friends and family may begin gathering at 9:30 AM Saturday morning prior to prayers.
