Obituary of Lawrence Faschan, Sr.

Lawrence "Larry" J. Faschan, Sr. of Netcong, NJ passed away on Sunday, October 18th at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 90. Larry was born on June 9, 1925 in Stanhope, NJ to the late Adam and the late Frances (Heil) Faschan. He was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 37 years. Larry also served as superintendent and trustee of the Stanhope Union Cemetery for more than 25 years. He was a 1943 graduate of Netcong High School and a 1950 graduate of Rider University. Larry lived in Netcong for the past 62 years. He was a Corporal during WWII in the United States Army serving in the 88th Infantry where he received the Purple Heart. He was a longtime parishioner and an usher at St. Michael's RC Church in Netcong. In addition, Larry was past president of the Musconetcong Little League, served as President of the Netcong High School Board of Education and he enjoyed golfing. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Joyce (Schomp), his daughters; Donna and her spouse Rocco Mariano, Marcia and her spouse Joseph Rochel and Christine Faschan and his sons, Larry Jr. and his spouse, Maria and Chris and his spouse Holly. Additional survivors include his cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Michael, John, Gina, Gabriella, Danielle, Brittney, Christopher, Justin and Hailey and his great-grandchildren; Ryan, Dominic, Olivia and Rocco. Larry's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday, October 21st from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Thursday, October 22nd at 9:30 am at St. Michael RC Church in Netcong. Larry will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
