Obituary of Bruce Vander Velde

Bruce Vander Velde, age 48, of Hopatcong, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital Denville. Mr. Vander Velde was born February 14, 1967 in Dover, NJ. He is the son of the late Herbert W. and the late Claire (Abernathy) Vander Velde. He was employed by Frito Lay as a Sales Distributor. Bruce enjoyed fishing, Nascar, repairing cars, gardening with his granddaughter and boating on Lake Hopatcong. He is survived by his wife Debbie (Lake) Vander Velde. His children Samantha and Alec Bruce. Granddaughter Hannalee. Brothers Kenneth and his wife Maureen and Robert and his girlfriend Karen. Sister Joyce Koch and her husband Edward. Father & Mother-in-law James Lake and Rosmarie Thompson. Also survived by many other family, friends and his dogs Ottis and Lucy. Bruce's Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 3 - 5 & 7 - 9pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be held on Saturday at 8:30pm at the funeral home. All other services are being conducted privately after prayers.
