Obituary of John Robert Murphy

John Robert Murphy, 60, of Succasunna passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center. He was born in Queens, NY. He lived in Hopatcong before moving to Succasunna in 1996. A salesman with DYC Supply, John enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and his dogs, Jean and Shadow. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants, Rangers, and Yankees. Beloved Husband of Irene (nee: Francis). Devoted father of Ryan Patrick Murphy, Valerie Lynne Ford and her husband, Michael. Dear brother of Martin Leo Murphy III, Debbie Fiedler, Lee H. Murphy Wilson, Sandy Sickels and the late James T. Murphy, Jr. He is also survived by his Godson John Blehl, his wife Alicia and their children, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John's Life Celebration on Sunday, February 21 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM, at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, February 22 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart RC Church in Dover, with committal prayers to follow as Locust Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Dover. All are invited to meet directly at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
