Obituary of Gloria M. McGeary

Gloria M. McGeary of Mt. Arlington, NJ passed away on Tuesday, February 23rd at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 87. Gloria was born on September 28, 1928 in Quito, Ecuador to the late George and the late Sara (Salazar) Arias. She was an x-ray technician at the Hospital of Special Surgery in New York City before leaving to marry and raise her family. Gloria enjoyed sewing, crafts, fashion and spending time with her dog, Pierre. Above all else, she took pride in her grandchildren giving each special nicknames. Her attributes live on in each of them. She was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ before moving to Mt. Arlington, NJ 4 years ago. Gloria is survived by her devoted daughter, Gloria Rene and her sons, Jim, Joseph and Vincent. Additional survivors include eight cherished grandchildren, one great-granddaughter , loving daughter in laws, son in law, Andrew and her brothers, Julio and Rene Arias . She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Vincent in 2012 and her siblings, George, Mario and Bertha. Gloria's Life Celebration will include visiting on Thursday, February 25th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home in Landing, NJ. There will be a funeral mass on Friday, February 26th at 9:30 am at St. Michael RC Church in Netcong, NJ. Gloria will be laid to rest with her husband Vincent at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ immediately following the funeral mass.
