Obituary of Raul Avenia

Raul Avenia of Succasunna passed away Saturday February 27, 2016 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. He was 89. Born in Monte Ciccerale, Italy, he came to the United States at the age of two. He lived in Peekskill NY before moving to Succasunna in 1974. A World War II Army veteran serving during the Battle of the Bulge, Raul was a member of the VBOB (Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge) Picatinny Chapter. Prior to his retirement, he was a technical writer/cost analyst with Foster Wheeler in Clinton. Beloved husband of the late Laura M. (nee: Zampini). Beloved father of Lauren M. Miller ( Gordon) and Gina M. (Ron) Talmadge. Cherished grandfather of Nicole (Justin) Pisano, Thomas (BreAnne) Law, Christopher (Ashley) Miller, Scott (Ellen) Law and Kevin (Elizabeth) Miller. Loving great grandfather of Jaxon and Gunnar Law and Michael and Joseph Pisano. Dear brother of Joseph Avenia. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are private under the direction of Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing.
