Art married my husband and I in 2013. We were blessed to be able to have crossed paths with Art and further privileged to have had him officiate our marriage. There are many people in this world, but few who would ever leave the lasting impression that Art did. His words are often repeated in my private practice as a testament to the ripple effect that one human being can have on another.

I only have known and worked with Art in the past 5 years but I always was struck by his kindness and desire to be helpful to anyone who might have needed his assistance. No favor ever was a burden to Art. He was an outstanding public servant and colleague. I regret I can not be with you today but want to extend my condolences to his family.

Dear Mrs. Joyce Ondish I have dear memories of the nights I was privileged to spend the night at you house with Art and your Parrot. Camping with Art was always an adventure, he was so fun to be with. Dear Mrs. Yvonne Ondish, I never had the honor of meeting you I was a childhood friend of Art's and moved away shortly after High Shool. I will always remember Art as a fun, kind person. My prayers are with you ant Art's mom that you both will be shown God's Grace and Love and know that Art will always be With you.

For the 1.5 years I've lived in Mount Arlington, after my "Big Move" from Succasunna, I was impressed, blessed by and joyful to have communication with Mr Ondish. I could tell immediately this was one quality, strong, conservative leader of this borough and I am sad that I didn't know him longer, but I trust though my experiences and the words of others, that this man by how he lived and served, is resting eternally in the Arms of Christ in a peace we cannot even grasp. My sincere prayers for the family and the many friends who grieve during this most difficult time.

My prayers go out to all Arties family.
I grew up with Art from kindergarten on. I used to pick Artie up at his dock growing up so that he, George Szabo and I could go fishing and skiing.
In third grade Artie and I had a little altercation involving a merry go round and an injury. He never held that against me over the next 40 plus years. He even performed my marriage in Point Pleasant, NJ. He was a great man and a great friend. He will be seriously missed.....RIP Artie

Art's commitment to local government in New Jersey was absolutely inspiring. His year as president of the League in 2012 was a demonstration of his courage and humanity. And he continued to serve as a long time active member of various committees such as the Legislative Committee and the 100th Anniversary Planning Committee. Art also served as president of the NJLM Educational Foundation from 2010 – 2016.
Art will be greatly missed by all of us at the League who benefited from his warm friendship, good counsel, and passion for life.
