Obituary of Mark Corey

Mark Corey of Byram Twp. passed away at home Friday April 22, 2016. He was 62. Born in Cleveland OH, he has lived in Byram Twp. for 27 years. Prior to his retirement, Mark was a computer security specialist with Mars Inc. in Mt. Olive. A Navy veteran and a parishioner of St. Michael's Church in Netcong, he enjoyed spending time with family, exploring nature and technology. Loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. His smile lit up the world. He is predeceased by his father Charles Robert Corey, his grandmother Ruth McCleery and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert L. and Mary M. Burkard. He is survived by his wife Joan (nee: Burkard) Corey, a son Charles Robert Corey and his wife Christi Leigh (nee: D'Amico) , daughter Mary Kathryn(Corey) Hanlen and her husband Daniel, a grandson Lionel David Corey, his mother Irene Ruth (nee: McCleery) Corey, his step-mother Neoma Corey, siblings John Corey, Christine Tobias (Corey), Mary Michaud (Corey), Katherine Taddeo (Burkard), Mary Anne Dutka (Burkard), Elizabeth Pasker (Burkard), Robert Burkard and James Burkard and nieces and nephews Zachary Tobias, Alexander Tobias, Brandan Michaud, Bailey Michaud, Brenna Michaud, Tracy Small, Ryan Taddeo, Megan Diebold, Robert Burkard, Janet Burkard, Laura Pasker and Renee Pasker. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday April 30 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church in Netcong. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mark's memory may be made to Wounded Warriors (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
