Obituary of Thonn Chey

Thonn Theresa Chey of Hopatcong passed away Thursday May 12, 2016 at home. She was 76. Born in Bakheng Cambodia. Thonn came to the United States in 1981 where she lived in Kenvil before moving to Hopatcong in 1982. A tailor with JC Penny in Rockaway, Thonn was a parishioner of St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending to her numerous garden flowers and was deeply devoted to her faith. Survivors include her husband Khann Kevin Chey; family sponsor Ronald Joseph Kelly; Akhara Albert Chey and his wife Nhar Chey and their children Linda, Peter, Mary, and Theresa; her son Mithona Anthony Chey and his wife Santina Chey and their children Anthony, Justin and Emily; her daughter Chariya Catherine Rush and her children Steve and Naria; her daughter Thidaphoa Lucy Chap and her husband Phan Chap and their children Kiersten, Dylan and MacKenzie; her son Saobophann Simon Chey and his wife Nataliya Chey and his son Nicholas; her son Chansok Joel Chey and his children Kaytlynn and Preston; her son Samreth Angelo Chey and his wife Eileen Chey and their children Khann, Micah and Lincoln; her son Piseth Pius Chey. Her sister in Cambodia Tach and her sister in law in Cambodia Channounn. She is also survived by her great nieces Sothea Vannah and Mech Vannah. Thonn’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Tuesday, May 17 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, May 18 from 9:45am to 10:45am with a Liturgy Mass following at 11:00am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. All are invited to meet directly at church for the viewing and mass. All other services after mass will be conducted privately.
