Obituary of Jennaro Parente

Jennaro "Pete" Parente of Budd Lake passed away Saturday November 16, 2013 at Merry Heart Care Center, Succasunna. He was 88. Born in Watervliet, N.Y., he was raised in Mt. Arlington by his Aunt Setemia and his Uncle Val. He lived in Port Morris for 47 years before moving to Budd Lake in 1993. A World War II Navy veteran, Pete was an electrician for Picatinny Arsenal prior to his retirement in 1977. He then owned and operated Parente Electric. A member of the Port Morris Fire Company for 51 years, he was also a member of American Legion Post #245 in Lake Hopatcong, 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3665 in Netcong and a member of the Ever Young Seniors in Roxbury. Beloved husband of the late Marie (nee: Tufano) Parente (2011). Devoted father of Lucille Flatt and her husband Bill and the late Harry Parente. Cherished grandfather of Lynn Gonzalez and her husband Joe and Dawn Leach and her husband Adam. Loving great grandfather of Joey Gonzalez. Dear brother of the late Josephine DePante.
