Obituary of Virginia A. Cooney-Meeks

Virginia A. Cooney-Meeks of Thompson, Pa. passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at her daughter's home in Milford, Pa. surrounded by her loving family. She was 70. Virginia was born on January 8, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Louis and the late Josephine (O'Neil) Gott. She was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ before moving to Thompson, Pa. 6 years ago. Virginia was an account receivable clerk at Dr. Pink's Office in Succasunna for many years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her cherished grandchildren and working in her garden on her farm in Thompson, Pa. She loved to travel and explore the many beautiful states and countries. Her favorite trips were to visit her loving family on Long Island. Virginia is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Meeks, her daughters, Nancy and Tara and her son, Christopher. Additional survivors include her grandchildren; Amanda, Michael, Kenneth, Jadelyse, Alexandra and Liam, her sisters, Joanie, Maria, her brother, John, many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, William R. Cooney in 1991 and her sisters, Grace and Louise. Virginia's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Sunday, August 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a Memorial Mass on Monday, August 15th at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive in Hopatcong. Family & Friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Monday morning. Virginia will be laid to rest at Succasunna Methodist Cemetery in Succasunna, NJ (Roxbury Twp.) immediately following the mass. All services have been entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
