Obituary of Frank J. Burns

Frank J. Burns, Sr. of Mt. Arlington passed away Tuesday November 12, 2013 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was 81. Born in Paterson, he lived in Landing prior to moving to Mt. Arlington 9 years ago. A Korean War Navy veteran, Frank was a chef with the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station. He previously worked at family restaurant's the Burns Steakhouse and Burns Country INN (both in Clifton) and was a chef with Pastabilities in Morristown. A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church in Mt. Arlington, he enjoyed pigeon raising and racing and jig-saw puzzles. Beloved husband of Elaine V. (nee: Butterworth) Burns. Devoted father of Lynda Burns and her husband John Hoag and Frank J. Burns, Jr. Cherished grandfather of Melissa A. Maines. Dear brother/brother-in-law of Theresa Matheis and her husband Joe, Carol Tedesco and her husband Dominick and the late Harry P. Burns and his wife Dolores. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
