Obituary of Ernest J. Zimpo

Ernest J. Zimpo, 82, of Mt. Arlington passed away on Saturday December 3, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY on December 16, 1933 to the late Ernest and Louise (Arena) Zimpo, "Ernie" resided in Rockaway, NJ and Stroudsburg, PA prior to moving to Mt. Arlington one and a half years ago. He enjoyed golfing and "playing the ponies". Ernie and his wife, Diane, were especially fond of traveling together and entertaining their family and friends. He worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal and Alliant Tech Systems prior to retirement. Survivors include his wife, Diane (Wade), a son, Christopher Zimpo and his wife, Vicki, stepdaughter, Susan Busardo, a stepson, Michael Busardo, grandchildren, Sarah, Sydney, Lauren and Matthew and a sister, Marigold Franconeri. Ernie's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday December 5, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00am on Tuesday December 6 at Our Lady of the Lake RC Church in Mt. Arlington. Cremation will be private.
