Obituary of Thomas Bencivengo, Sr.

Thomas Bencivengo, Sr. of Landing, NJ passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old. Thomas was born on December 29, 1945 in Dover, NJ to the late Dominick Michael and the late Emily Joan (Winch) Bencivengo, Sr. He resided in Landing, NJ for the past 30 years and previously lived in Budd Lake, NJ. Thomas was a Lieutenant with Mt. Arlington Borough Police Department where he retired after 31 years of service. He was a firearm enthusiast and enjoyed computers but most importantly he loved spending time with his family. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years during the Vietnam War. Thomas is survived by his devoted daughter, Cheryl and his devoted sons Corey, Bryson and Thomas Jr. Additional survivors include his sister, Patricia Huelsenbeck, his brother, Dominick, his cherished grandchildren, Johnathan, Dylan, Rebecca, Heather and Thomas III, his great-grandchildren, Jackson, Dustin and Anna Leigh, his beloved ex-wife, Melissa Bencivengo and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Linda Sylvester. Thomas's Life Celebration will include visitation on Sunday, March 5th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. Thomas will be laid to rest privately at the Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
