Obituary of Jean Santella

Jean (DeFeo) Santella, 90, of the Port Morris section of Roxbury Township passed away on Wednesday March 8, 2017 at House of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center in Hackettstown, NJ surrounded by her loving family. Born in Netcong on July 31, 1926 to the late Luigi and Orsola (Silvestri) DeFeo, Jean has resided in Port Morris for most of her life. Beloved wife of the late Razzie Santella and adoring mother of the late Mary Ann Snook. Jean loved to cook, was a member of Roxbury Fire Co. #2 Ladies' Auxiliary, worked at Warner Lambert in Morris Plains for 10 years, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean inspired her children to be strong, independent, intelligent and willful. Survivors include her devoted children, Carol Jean Waldron and her husband, Robert, Orsola "Lee" Godfrey and her husband Edward, Anthony Santella and his wife, Elizabeth, Patricia Peer and her husband, Peter and her loving son in law James Snook. Jean was also survived by her 10 loving grandchildren, Christina, Jeanette, Alyssa, Bobby, Christopher, Matthew, Kelly Jean, Tracy, Jennifer and Jana, 18 great grandchildren, her siblings, Louise Harsanyi, Rose Pioppi, Lucy Tynan and Dominick DeFeo and many nieces and nephews. Jean's Life Celebration will include visiting on Sunday March 12, 2017 from 2-6 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be offered on Monday March 13 beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Friends and family may gather Monday morning beginning at 9:30 AM prior to services. Jean will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Township.
